Ella es la bloguera quién me interesó en “Spanish Friday.” Ella es una escritora freelance que ha contribuido a varios otros blogs, sitios web y publicaciones de letra incluyendo Fox News Latino. Era por estos otros sitios que primero la descubrí.

El segundo blog es uno que descubrí hace pocos días. El nombre de éste blogeuro es Travis Mair del blog I want 2 speak Spanish. Es un estadounidense que vive en Nueva Zelanda, que también está tratando de aprender a hablar español. Él ha estado fijando su progreso en línea. Disfruto que él ha permitido que otros sean una parte de su viaje para hacerse fluidez en español.

Latinos de Corazón: Bloggers Edition >> Spanish Friday

This week’s “Spanish Friday” post will be a “Friday Feature” post as well.

Some of my favorite blogs belong to individuals that I like to refer to as a “Latinos de Corazón.”

One blog that I make sure to visit several times each week is that of Tracy López, who is the bloguera who writes the blog Latinaish.com. She is Anglo-American or as she puts it in her about page, “[…] Caucasian, gringa or white as Wonder bread […]” (She has a great sense of humor, too.) Born and raised outside of Washington D.C., she speaks, reads and writes en español, every day. She was the bloguera who got me interested in “Spanish Friday.” She is a freelance writer who has contributed to various other blogs, websites and print publications including Fox News Latino. It was through these other sites that I first discovered her.

The second blog is one I discovered just a few days ago. This blogeuros name is Travis Mair of the blog  I want 2 speak Spanish. He is an American living in New Zealand who is also trying to learn to speak Spanish. He has been posting his progress online. I enjoy that he has allowed others to be a part of his journey to become fluent in Spanish.

So, if you are interested in learning Spanish or keeping your mind fresh as a Spanish-speaker make sure to visit Latinaish.com or I want 2 speak Spanish. You won’t be disappointed.

Un Verano Ajetreado >> Spanish Friday

Yo casi no conseguí tiempo para escribir este el “Spanish Friday” esta semana. El post de esta semana será corta.

Casi tengo el apartamento hasta el punto donde esta satisfactoria. A pesar de que no estoy trabajando ahora, todavía tengo mucho trabajo que hacer. Estoy escribiendo un plan de estudios para un curso universitario de estudios internacionales que voy a enseñar sobre la historia de Puerto Rico. Estoy trabajando en la planificación de la boda. Puedo tener un trabajo de verano trabajando con los estudiantes como un consejero. Además, estoy buscando empleo en hostelería y el empleo en el bar. Aún durante el verano, parece que siempre estoy muy ocupado. Prefiero ser ocupado, que aburrido.

A Busy Summer >> Spanish Friday

I almost did not find time to write this week’s ‘Spanish Friday’ post. This week’s post will be short.

I almost have the apartment to the point where it is satisfactory. Even though I am not working right now, I still have a lot of work to do. I am writing a syllabus for a college course for international studies that I will be teaching on the history of Puerto Rico. (I just need to sign my contract in July.) I am working on wedding planning. I may have a summer job working with students as a counselor. Also, I am looking at a catering and bartending job. Even during the summer, it seems that I am always really busy. I’d rather be busy, than bored.

Borrón y Cuenta Neuva >> Spanish Friday

He estado aprovechándome  de tener un borrón y cuenta nueva haciendo un montón de nada. No tengo un coche. Tengo un nuevo apartamento. Connecticut ha cambiado realmente bastante mientras he sido ido que a veces es desconcido.

 Así y todo, diciendo que he estado haciendo nada no es exacto, tampoco. He estado tomando tiempo para yo mismo después de haber dedicado toda mi energía apprediendo y trabajando durante mucho tiempo. Fui de excursión dos veces en una semana y he conectado de nuevo con un amigo viejo. He estado organizando mi apartamento. Así, tengo un propósito y un objetivo.

Mi objetivo inmediato actual es llena este librero. Como mi vida ahora, tiene una forma, la estructura, y ya tiene  cosas esperando para llenarlo, pero definitivamente va a estar disponible para tener más.

A Clean Slate >> Spanish Friday

I have been taking advantage of having a clean slate by doing a lot of nothing. I don’t have a car. I have a new apartment. Connecticut has actually changed enough while I’ve been gone that it is sometimes unfamiliar.

Then again, saying that I’ve been doing nothing is not accurate, either. I have been taking time for myself after having devoted all of my energy to school and work for a very long time. I went hiking twice in one week and have reconnected with an old friend.  I have been organizing my apartment.  So, I have a purpose and a goal.

My current immediate goal is filling this bookshelf.  Just like my life now, it has a form, structure, and already has things waiting to fill it, but will definitely be available to hold more.

Mi Nuevo Proyecto: Diseño de Apartamento

Me mudé la semana pasada así que pido disculpas por no hacer un post de “Spanish Friday.” El post de esta semana será corta ya que estoy en el proceso de tratar de hacer este espacio en un estilo cómo apartamento buhardilla.

Tengo la intención de mover mi cama aquí y usar libreros para crear un muro. Decidí ya que sólo estará en este espacio por un corto tiempo, no lo voy a pintar, aunque el amarillo no es mi color favorito.

My New Project: Apartment Design

I moved last week so I apologize for not doing a “Spanish Friday” post. This post will be short this week since I am in the process of trying to make this space into an apartment-style loft.

The Room; La Habitación

I have the intention to move my bed here and use bookcases to create a wall. I decided since I will only be in this space for a short time, I will not paint it, although yellow is not my favorite color.

If you have any ideas, feel free to post a comment.

In the meantime, I leave you with Imogen Heap’s song “Goodnight and Go.” I woke up with it in my head this morning.

Voy a extrañar bailar salsa en Harrisburg

¡Este es mi primer post de «Spanish Friday» y el primero escrito completamente en español! Decidí tomar este desafío, porque Señora López proponó un reto en su blog, Latinaish.com. (Chequea lo en algún momento.) No espere la perfección ya que por lo general no escribo exclusivamente en español y ya que voy a estar escribiendo algo informal.

Jueves, el 19 de mayo 2011 fue mi último día bailando Salsa (y Merengue, Bachata, y ChaChaCha) en Harrisburg con mis amigos bailadores de Harrisburg. Voy a extrañar salir y a ver los cada semana en los jueves. Bailando salsa fue una de las primeras cosas que hice para familiarizarme con el área de Harrisburg y hacer nuevos amigos en el área. Me hubiera vuelto loco si no pudiera salir y bailar cada semana o dos.

I’ll Miss Dancing Salsa in Harrisburg

Here is my first Spanish Friday post and the first one written completely in Spanish! I decided to take this challenge because Señora López put forth a challenge on her blog, Latinaish.com. (Check it out sometime.)  Don’t expect perfection since I usually don’t write solely in Spanish and since I will be writing somewhat informally.

Thursday, May 19, 2011 was my last day dancing salsa (and Merengue, Bachata, and ChaChaCha) in Harrisburg with my Harrisburg dancers friends. I will miss going out and seeing them every week on Thursdays. Dancing salsa was one of the first things I did in order to familiarize myself with the Harrisburg area and make new friends in the area. I would have gone crazy if I couldn’t go out and dance every week or two.

Despite this, I hope to visit and dance with them again soon. I also look forward to dancing when I go back to Connecticut. Until next Friday! (Feel free comment on corrections in the comments. I have added a translation at the bottom of the post.)

My new challenge: Spanish Friday

Blogger Tracy López, also known as Señora López, of Latinaish.com has put forth a challenge. Although I’m a little late in accepting, here is the challenge she has put forth:  I must write my usual blog post in Spanish on that Friday. (Don’t worry, there won’t be any Friday Features in Spanish- at least, not yet. Also, I will put a translation of my post up.)
